How Much Is Enough When It Comes To Sunscreen?
We all want to play it safe in the sun, especially when it comes to our children. It seems logical that the higher the SPF on a sunscreen label, the more protection we’ll be getting. In fact, SPF 50+ offers only marginally better protection from Ultra Violet B (UVB) radiation than SPF 30+. SPF 50+ filters out 98% of UVB radiation compared to 96.7% blocked by SPF 30+.
SPF 50+ sunscreen still needs to be applied just as liberally, re-applied every two hours (or after swimming, exercising and towel drying) and used in combination with other sun protection measures including sun protective hats, protective clothing, sunglasses and shade.
KenetMD EnGarde Moisture SPF 30 offers UVA and UVB broad spectrum protection while keeping skin soft and supple. The added benefit of Vitamin C is also an important element in repairing sun damage.
No need to go overboard with high SPF numbers. Just remember to use it regularly and you’ll be ahead of the game.
